I have found my blog calling

I have discovered my inner female. I want to post on my favorite fashion or beauty items. My taste may not be for everyone but certain things make my heart beat faster and give me a little thrill when I see them.

That said, today's item:

Juicy Coture Women's Perfume

It's not a secret I love perfume. I have at least ten in my bathroom varying in price from $20 to $150. I am a gemini, so I have to change my perfume as many times as people change their socks. It depends on my mood and what I'm doing that day. However, I think finally after a really long search I may have found my signature fragrance. You have to read the description of this fragrance to get started:

From Sephora.com (I'm kicking myself for not buying the gift set when I was there last month!)

Juicy Couture: Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there were two nice girls named Pam and Gela who discovered the Juicy Couture world of fashion and fun, fun, fun. They took a deep breath and realized this is how The Juicy Girls smell the world!Pam and Gela wanted every girl to have her own Juicy Couture, so they made a fabulous line of fragrance essentials adorned as only Juicy Couture can - some with charms and trinkets, and all in the most beautiful bottles and jars you've ever seen.
Notes:Watermelon, Mandarin, Pink Passion Fruit, Marigold, Green Apple, Water Hyacinth, Crushed Leaves, Tuberose Absolute, Wild Rose, Princess Lily, Tuberose, Caramel Creme Brulee, Vanilla, Precious Woods, Patchouli.Style:Flirtatious. Romantic. Precious.

Who wouldn't love this stuff!!! I bought the travel size bottle (the only one they had!) at the airport in Dallas and LOOK at this bottle!!! FOR God's sake I'm only human!!

The scent itself is what got me. When I first tried it, I decided I liked their other fragrance Viva La Juicy even better. It's more fruity and doesn't have the patchouli notes that the original Juicy Coture has. However, I noticed that the original lasted for hours and hours and hours. I love fruity/citrusy/sweet perfumes but none of them last very long. This one did, but it does have some "deeper and stronger" notes than what I'm used to. I kind of forgot about it then when I tried it again at the airport, I could smell all the fruit, watermelon and things, then the creme brulee and the leaves but not all at the same time, just whiffs of different scents when I moved. It's like a color changing perfume, you have a different scent constantly. Today when I wore it, I smelled the fruits first, then the patchouli, but when I put my sweater on over where I'd sprayed it, the creme brulee came through my clothes. It's fabulous! You want to smell it but it's difficult to pinpoint any one scent so it's elusive. I really really like that!

One bonus for my Duran Duran pals, Juicy Coture is co-owned by John Taylor's wife. So I feel a little link to him when I wear the perfume!! (only a duranie will understand this)

The link I provided above has AMAZING deals! I bought a Viva La Juicy 100ml tester for a rock bottom price on there today. I'll let you know how I like it when it comes in the mail!

Tomorrow... Dave's version of Juicy Coture, Dirty English Men's Cologne. Or "Why I Want to Eat My Husband Alive"

should I or shouldn't I?

I was informed by the podiatrist that I have ligament damage in my foot. So he said I'm going to have to have a cortisone injection in it after I finish my three rounds of ultrasound therapy. I was going to have the shot next Wednesday till the PT scared the bejezzus out of me saying that the shot is really painful and that I just need to see if Ultrasound will work first. Now I'm torn and don't know what to do really. Unfortunately, I'll probably have to go with what's paid for instead of what would be more comfortable. I only have 500 pounds of physical therapy paid for by BUPA and that's it and I may be getting close to that but I do know the shot is paid for already (or approved anyway) so I'm guessing that if I get to my limit in PT and I'm still having pain then I'll go with the shot. :( Anyone want to hold a chicken's hand?

That's life in my world. I miss my horse and I'm sick of the house too. I did a load of laundry because I have nothing left to wear! Nine hundred more loads to go...

Meanwhile... more boring food choices!!! Please be nice today. I was alone all day and didn't really fancy anything.

Food Confessional

Warning: This post may be really boring unless you are my weight watcher's leader, in which case, please judge with kindness and understanding.

I have been off my feet literally for nearly three weeks now and it is driving me crazy. I have been in isolation and laziness all this time but tonight I finally found out what is wrong, I have some ligament and possibly tendon damage to my second metatarsal joint. I'm having two more rounds of ultrasound therapy and then next Wednesday I'm having a cortisone injection in the joint, then I will have to wear an insert in my shoe for the rest of my life but hey its better than being in pain.

I also fell on my ass and cracked my tail bone. I'm so stupid it is unreal. I was trying to keep up my exercise routine and decided to use my beloved exercise ball to help me keep fit while staying off my foot and low and behold it popped!! I heard an allmighty boom and I was mid air for a few horrible seconds (I would give anything to see a picture of my face) and next thing I know, I'm flat on my back in pain on the floor. I lay there for those few "am I paralysed?" minutes, then crawled to the couch. When I called my husband, he was so kind and supportive, he said "Let that be a bloody lesson to you." and told me not to move any more till he got home which I did, I lay on the couch like a wounded turtle and held my five cups of green tea till he got home and could help me get up. I think it was God's way of taking my mind off my foot pain by giving me an even worse pain in my butt. Very funny God.. I hear you laughing.

So this blog, aside from me moaning about my ailments, is about food. I'm feeling rather fat and horrible after so long of being inactive and just eating to pass the time (not as bad as it sounds but I bet I haven't LOST any weight if you know what I mean!!) so I decided that for a few days, maybe weeks, I need to keep myself honest and post what I am eating for the world to see. This seems to help my sister and I because it helps both of us learn. She learns that what she eats is awful and I learn that I'm not doing so bad and that I've come a long way but that I could do a bit better and the better I do, the more it inspires her to do better and its all good.

I'm allowed 25 points per day and will list those.

No weigh in for last week

Friday I had to go to the stables to help out so I didn't go weigh in. I was secretly kind of happy and needed the break from the pressure that I put myself under. I think my body secretly conspires against my brain. I told myself to really gear up and have this big hard slog to November 4th when we leave for Oklahoma and immediately my body said ok don't burn another calorie, she's going on a rampage again, and I didn't lose one week and put on a half pound the next week. I have learned my lesson, fat thighs, and I have returned to my day to day approach and concentrating on eating healthy things and staying on my points and not being a diet nazi. We will see on this Friday if that strategy works. I know I'm a lot less stressed out though.

My husband is having a really stressful day at work so I'm worried about him. I know we will be fine, but I do feel bad that he can't have a job that he enjoys and that I get to work from home and ride horses in the day. Hopefully if/when we move to America one day he will finally find happiness. Lord knows he deserves it after all the shit jobs he's had to put up with.

On a positive diet note, I'm finding the power of green tea. A friend at the stables told me to give it a try and she's like a bean pole, so I thought it couldn't hurt. I have had bad experience with the bitterness of green tea in the past but have since discovered that blends like green tea and jasmine are very nice and any of the fruit blends with it are nice as well. Also, you must not brew it too long or it will increase the bitterness. I do my jasmine and green tea for one and a half minutes and with two splenda tablets it is just right. I had a couple of large cups yesterday along with one of my usual instant espressos and I think my metabolism was burning over time because I was radiating heat like, well, like a radiator! I'm trying white tea and pomegranate this week so we will see if that works the same. I did feel a bit anxious yesterday but I don't know if its related. I'm a bit sensitive to caffeine but I think my daily espresso boost is becoming a bit of an addiction so I have trouble getting going in the morning without it.

I also have a question for my fitter comrades. I have been knackered lately and wanting to just sleep a lot. I have been doing lots of activity last week so my question is, when you exercise a lot, do you sleep a lot too? You always hear that exercise gives you energy, but I've been absolutely shattered at night. I know it sounds funny, but I've never been this fit so I'm not sure how it feels. Thanks for any help!!

Husbands say the darndest things...

So I went to Bluewater (woo hoo!) yesterday with the hubby. I tried on about fifty perfumes, all of which got "eh" or "it's okay.." or a flat out "EWW". I have been on this quest to find the perfume that would drive him wild with desire at the merest whiff to no avail. It's been years. I forced him to pick one once and he chose "Britney Spears Fantasy" how embarrassing!! But he at least likes it. Then I find out its because it has chocolate in it. It still doesn't do its job. I wear it all the time and he never notices.

So we are sitting at Starbucks enjoying a frappucino and I say "I'm just trying to find a signature scent that when you smell it, it reminds you of me." and he says "pony". That's right. When he smells horse, he thinks of me. Joy. (grumpy face)

More Hot Boots

Okay I'm obsessed now. Look what I bought today:

And I want these so bad I can taste them:

Someone send me to rehab (in a fab pair of boots!) ASAP!!!
On the weigh in front, I stayed the same this week. I'm totally crushed!! Ate pretzels and candy. I feel like crap now. Guess I will just keep plugging away though. More boots will fix it!!!

that was stupid

Okay please tell me why I decided to order Chinese food the night before a weigh in? That was really stupid. I was starving for one, Dave was starving, Dave was tired, I was tired, I got away with it. Ok if I'm honest, the big reason is I got away with it. I'm so damned spoiled.

I have a confession. I bought another pair of long riding boots on clearance online and didn't tell Dave. I wore them today and I love them sSOOOO much. He may kill me when we get the credit card bill but by then they will be molded to my feet and he won't be able to get them off much less make me return them! This losing weight thing is dangerous. I've always wanted tall boots and to suddenly have two pairs makes me giddy!!
